It's snowing AGAIN

Well, it has now been a week since the snow started in Tukwila. We can usually handle an inch or so of the sloppy rain-mixed stuff that melts fairly quickly, but this year it has been the powdery stuff and it has stayed, and stayed, and stayed. We got about 10-12 inches over 4 days, and then had two days of overcast to partly sunny (and no new snow). But this morning, we woke up to more snow. But this is the big flake type that is full of moisture since it is already slightly above freezing. Great for making snowballs, but may lead to flooding when the rain finally comes back this weekend.

Our biggest frustration with this white stuff is that all UPS, FedEx, and USPS deliveries have been missed. Our postal carrier has been great about giving us our mail when we see her on her rounds, but she won't venture down our hill and neither will UPS or FedEx. With this being Christmas time, people waiting for deliveries are getting very anxious. We finally got our hill plowed and sanded on Monday -- Tukwila came down the hill 3 times with 2 plows each time. Of course, that meant we now had to shovel the mountain out from along our driveway so we could get the car out. Unfortunately, even this plowing didn't encourage the delivery people to venture down our hill.

But, before it goes away, we may get our first truly white Christmas in about 18 years.

Here's what our hill looked like last Friday -- after just 2 days of snow.......
